First before disassembling, please remove the battery. On the LCD screen bezel you will find five screw seals. Remove all five seals with a sharp object. Under the seals you will find five screws. Remove them.

Then, please carefully separate the LCD screen bezel.

Once the LCD screen bezel has been removed, you will find the inverter located at the bottom of the LCD screen.

From both sides of the inverter, unplug the cables carefully. The inverter will be removed.

My zv5000 screen gets rainbows then blacks out. read on line this is the inverter. What do you think?? is it the lcd screen?? need some help. please e-mail response Rick(Quote) (Reply)

Hi Rick,
You can enter BIOS interface to see whether the screen has the same problem or not; if the screen has the same problem, it means that the screen is bad and out of work. And you had better test your laptop with external screen to make sure what the problem is.
What’s more, the inverter may lead to brightness problem, but not the color issues. lang(Quote) (Reply)

I had to take my computer apart and put back together and in the process I damaged the invertor. I found one on ebay new but not original. I installed it, and it worked about 1 minute and went blank again. I have put 4 inverters in, that I got from the same person and get the same respones. Could this be that the inverters their giving me to weak to power the screen? Troy(Quote) (Reply)
