With the smart functions added to the Nokia N900, the N900 is to some extent not a phone. It will give you a feeling that you are using a laptop with small screen. The N900 is is definitely an upgrade device, with the Maemo 5 OS bringing all manner of new and funky applications, graphics and functionality not seen before from Nokia on a mobile.
The design is clean, the Nokia N900 is in a shiny black finish, and there is just a huge 3.5 inch 16:9 touchscreen with the resolution of 800 x 480. Its dimensions is 59.7mmx111mmx18.2mm .The touchscreen is very senstive, responsive, fast and easy to use, it will take actions only a slightest touch of your finger.
There is no doubt that the N900 has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, with it, you can type comfortably.
At the top of the device , it has a lock button, a speaker. The other speaker is at the bottom. The speakers are used in games and “speaker mode” with good sound quality.
The camera with 5 megapixels, on the back of the phone, contains the usual N-Series affair, Carl Zeiss lens, auto focus and dual LED flash. You can edit, crop, rotate and do all sorts of things with your images quickly and smoothly.

What a pity, the strong smartphone can’t support the the MMS. So you can not share your lovely photos with your friends far away from you.
You have 4 desktop panels, where you can place any installed widgets, shortcuts to various apps, functions, or contacts. You can move through panels with a swipe gesture. And there an “Applications menu” on the left top corner of the phone with which you can know your missed calls, messages, e-mails and so on . The“app menu” allows you go back to active app dashboard and the main desktops panels. You can know the relevant connectivity/phone status symbols such as connected to 3G Networks, Wi-Fi data connection, remaining battery power, time, etc. with the“Status bar”. While on the“Status menu”, you can know clock/alarms, internet connection options, availability status on IM services, phone profile, Bluetooth, USB, etc

The Nokia N900 is just like the laptop, the N900 has 6 open browser windows, 9 active applications which supports file manager, Phone app, Conversations app, Ovi Maps, E-mail app, Chess and Blocks games, PDF reader with an e-book open, Gallery app.
The phone runs fast, its processor is TI OMAP 3430 with ARM Cortex-A8 running at 600 MHz, and there is a 32GB of storage which can expand to 48 GB with a MicroSD card., with over 1GB of memory dedicated for applications, and it comes with PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics accelerator.
The operating system for the N900 is Maemo 5, which is based on Linux. With this device, the N900 brings the smartphone to Flash, you can play a Flash version of Tower Defense through the Web. The phone also can let you go to Vimeo, Hulu or Youtube, where you can watch the video smoothly.
The N900 uses Ovi Maps, which is different from any other Nokia’s Mapping app. The N900 sports a compass and aGPS. Furthermore, the phone allow you to download maps for on-board storage.

With such a strong functionality phone, I think you must love it, and it will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year. Take the chance!
