Are you upset about using the network for web surfing on laptop with the only condition of signing a two-year contract with the operator. If you do, there is a good news for you. On Monday, the AT&T launched a prepaid wireless broadband service-DataConnect Pass System. With it, you can pay by the day, by the week or by the month.
“This is about choice and flexibility — giving our customers more ways to match their own data needs, on their own time and with their own budget,” said Mark Collins, senior vice president-Voice and Data Products, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We want our network to be open, accessible and useful in a way that accommodates unique customer needs. DataConnect Pass(SM) is another way consumers can customize the AT&T experience.”
This new Prepaid Wireless Broadband benefits to people who couldn’t find an open Wi-Fi hotspot, hate the contract and willing to pay more to the bandwidth. If you want to use DataConnect Pass System, you just need a compatible AT&T 3G netbook, laptop, or modem, and an un-activated SIM card. And the data service is available throughout AT&T’s wireless network footprint. What you need do is insert the SIM card into the compatible laptop or netbook, connect to the Internet through an ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, launch www.att.com/buyasession, and follow the steps.
With the DataConnect Pass System, you can get 75MB as a “day pass” for $15, 250MB as a weekly deal for $30, or a half gig per month for $50. With the $15 per day, you can send or receive about 25,600 e-mails, download 500 Web pages, and send or receive 150 low-resolution digital phones.
If you are not satisfied with these choices, a 5GB of data is available for you. What I want to highlight is that DataConnect Pass is only good for use on AT&T’s own national 3G network, laptop, and can not be used on other networks in the U.S. or in other countries.
If you find it really fits you. Come on now!
