
BenQ announced two notebooks at same time: BenQ Joybook S35 and BenQ Joybook S43. Now we have a view on them.
The BenQ S35 and the BenQ S43 are available in the colors of high-gloss blue and black. The BenQ S35 is at the dimension of 328 × 239.2 × 17.1 ~ 22.6 (rear) mm, while the BenQ S43 is 338 x 237.5 x 25 ~ 31.2 (rear) mm.
Screen
The BenQ Joybook S35 features a 13.3 inches LED screen, while the BenQ Joybook S43 features a 14 inches screen, and both of the screens are with the resolution of 1366×768 pixels; and the LED screen UltraVivid support high-definition 16:9 aspect ratio. With the UltraVivid technology, you are not worried about the reflectivity, and they are suitable for you to use these two laptops in outdoor surroundings.
Keyboard
The BenQ S43 is coming with a full-size keyboard, and there is not gap between the touchpad and the palm rest. The BenQ S43 is equipped with the chocolate keyboard, which provides you to type in a fast speed without worry about to chick “A” as “S”. While the S35 also boasts a unique “flying eaves” hinge design and a raised dot pattern that distinguishes the palm rest from the sunken pattern of the touchpad for visual fluidity in design that is easily discerned by touch.


Weight
The BenQ S35 is with the weight of 1.4 kg without the battery, 1.6kg with 4-cell battery and 1.85kg with 8-cell battery. However, the BenQ S43 is a little heavier than BenQ S35 with the weight of 1.8kg without battery and 2.1 kg with 6-cell battery. With the weight of 1.6kg and 2.1kg, they are light enough for you to carry around.
Battery
The BenQ Joybooks S35 comes with an 8-cell battery that is be boasted to last for 11 hours, while the BenQ S43 doesn’t perform so well with its battery life, the BenQ S43 just comes with a 6-cell battery and with short battery life of 5-hour runtime. And the BenQ S35 has the battery option of 4 cell and 8 cell, while the BenQ S43 is just with 6 cell battery.
Performance
Both this two laptops are equipped with the latest Microsoft software, Windows 7 and powered by Intel’s® latest ULV processors, as well as the Intel Pentium Dual Core ULV SU4100.
The BenQ S35 Intel Pentium Dual Core ULV SU4100, HDMI port, 2-channel system TruSurround HD, 320GB hard drive; BenQ S43 not only has all the choices of the BenQ S35 but also has the choices of dGPU and 8X DVD Super-Multi. What’s more, the BenQ S35 and the BenQ S43 includes the option of eSATA high speed data transfer, which is said three times faster than the USB 2.0.
