Laptop is not a cheap investment, if you want to expand the lifespan of your laptop, follow the tips below:

Clean your laptop regularly, including the cool fan and heat sink, keyboard and LCD screen.

Use a surge protector. An electrical surge may not affect your laptop during the first time, but over time it will destroy it!

Buy good qualities carrying case, which will prevent your laptop from scratching. Although we are very careful, dropping and bumping a laptop is common.

Use a security cable, connecting the laptop from the Universal Security Slot to a strong immovable and unbreakable object to deter the casual thief.

Keep your purchase receipt. Send it to repair if there is something wrong with your laptop as long as it is in the guarantee period.

Do not drink liquids near your laptop. Spilling liquid into your laptop may cost you a lot, but not only a cup of coffee or green tea.

Do not leave your laptop on soft surfaces, which will block the air vents and overheat your system.

Do not leave your laptop in cold environment, which may shorten your laptop life.

Do not use your laptop for a long time. You may use the desktop for a whole day, but laptop needs rest. You’d better stop it when it continually works for four hours.

Do not disassemble your laptop unless you are a qualified professional. You may disassemble it easily, but hard to get it back. Send it to the professional repair store.

If you are buying a laptop, you have to be careful enough when you received it. In case receiving a laptop which is old or broken, there are some tips for you to avoid it.

One: check the package of your new laptop

When you get your new laptop, it is not so good that you can not wait to open the package. First of all, you have to check the box of new laptop.

1. See if the seal is intact or not. Be careful for this as some dealers will imitate the seals of the manufactures illegally, so it is important for you to check if the seal is broken or not.

2. If the box is be serious damaged, you can require for another new laptop. Because the laptop in the box may be damaged to some extent.

3. To check if the model and specifications on the laptop box is as same as what you want to buy. If the model is exactly as same as that of you and you can not find the specifications on the box, it is also ok.

Two: look over new laptop carefully

1. You have to look carefully if there is any dust on heat vent, keyboard, and the gap between keys.

2. Then, you have to check if the ports on both sides of new notebook are plugged by some peripherals or have scratches on them; it means that this laptop is definitely used by someone.

3. As we know, there is no fingerprints on new laptop, if you find fingerprints on the new laptop and you can make sure that the fingerprints is not yours. Maybe there is someone have opened the box before.

Three: inspect accessories

The number of accessories included in the box is listed on the box, for example, how many manuals, power codes are in the box, and there is mouse in the box or not. We need to check the number of accessories we received in the box in case that some accessory is forgot by manufactures.

Four: test new laptop with software such as Everest、HD Tune、NOKIA Monitortest.

EVEREST Ultimate Edition is advanced hardware monitoring and diagnostics capabilities to check the effects of the applied settings. CPU, FPU and memory benchmarks are available to measure the actual system performance and compare it to previous states or other systems.

EVEREST is a green software and without the need of upload. Double click it, you will find the detail of your laptop’s hardware. With it, you don’t worry about the tricks of some person.

As you know, if the dead pixels on the screen is less than 5 more or less is a qualified screen, and NOKIA Monitortest will tell you how many dead pixels on your screen.

When you are going to buy a new laptop, be careful for it in case of wasting money.
